Cubs win in the 9th

soriano delivers, thats all i can say... its nice to know that we're not the only team with an un-reliable closer

big z pitched great, the bullpen stuggled but kept it close enough...

Reed Johnson wow, way to come up big, that single was the difference...soriano, great swing, great home run

I love all the sad brewers faces, lets do it again tommarow night!

Opening Day Baby

Even though I'll have to sit through a boring game between the Phillies and Braves, its nice to know that "real" baseball is underway. I'm a fan of the WBC, and it's fun to watch even though it needs to be moved to AFTER the season and the US needs to get their best players to play in order to truly compete. And spring training is a complete joke for the fans, its good for the players and it let's teams narrow down the rosters and give some young guys a chance but it's such a drag to watch. But, now we can keep REAL stats, and the games REALLY matter, so I'm excited. It will be a long summer but I't couldn't come early enough.

Bulls beat Nets 103-94 - 4/4/09

Ben Gordon scored 12 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter and John Salmons dropped 17 as the Bulls squeeked out a close one against the New Jersey Nets. It's the Bulls 8th win in 11 games.

The seventh-place Bulls now lead Detroit, which lost to Philadelphia, by a half game in the Eastern Conference and are 2 1/2 ahead of Charlotte after a win that was probably more dramatic than it should have been. Chicago led by as many as 16 in the second quarter and never trailed until Brook Lopez hit a short jump hook to make it 94-93 with 2:50 left in the game. But the Nets missed their final eight shots and took their sixth loss in seven games.

Cutler to the Bears!

As i wrote about yesterday the Bears needed to go after Cutler and they definitely did, signing Cutler will give them a proven quarterback who has quite an arm. Now all we need is the Offensive Coordinator to stop running 5 and out patterns and stretch the field! Here's the rest of the article from ESPN ; The Denver Broncos have agreed to trade disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler to the Chicago Bears.

The Broncos announced the deal Thursday and said terms would be disclosed later. It wasn't immediately known if Denver got any players in return or just draft picks.

The Broncos were trading Cutler on his terms and there was no shortage of teams lining up to take a crack at acquiring the 25-year-old Pro Bowl passer.

Cutler had asked for a trade last month after his relationship with new coach Josh McDaniels soured. McDaniels had talked to other teams about trading his rocket-armed passer.

Bulls Lose Close Game at Indiana 3/31/09

Isn’t this just the way it is for Chicago teams? Ones without Michael Jordan, at least. Making you feel like you don’t want to watch or can’t watch. So close, but out of reach. Just excruciating. I won't even start about our Cubbies.

And so this is what it’s beginning to look like for the Bulls, who gave up an eight-point fourth quarter lead in the last six minutes and were outscored 11-2 to close the game and lost Tuesday 107-105 to the Indiana Pacers. The Bulls to even have a chance for the playoffs now probably will have to beat the Charlotte Bobcats April 11 when the teams meet in Chicago.

That’s because with a Bobcats win over the Lakers Tuesday—could Phil Jackson have been paying back Michael Jordan for all Jordan did for him with the Bulls?—Charlotte pulled within one game of the Bulls for eighth place in the Eastern Conference. More significantly, Charlotte is tied with the Bulls in losses, the key statistic in such races, and Charlotte has the tiebreaker if the teams are even at the end of the season! This can't be happening, Charlotte into the playoffs?!?!?

So the Bulls now, effectively, have almost zero edge over the Bobcats. Other than a supposedly favorable schedule with five of their last six games at home and only one, April 9 against the 76ers, against a team that is catching fire and peaking. The Bobcats close with six of eight on the road, starting in Boston on Wednesday. Yes I did say favorable, no matter if KG is in our out of the lineup, they ARE the defending champs and when you play in their house, its going to be a tough game no matter what.

I've been really impressed with Tyrus Thomas over the past string of games. Yes he is very streaky, but he's been consitently getting better with his shot-blocking and rebounds. If we could get him to drop some points then we'd be rolling. Kirk is still struggling to find rythem and I'm hoping he shapes up come playoff time....if we get their!

Jay Cutler (spoiled baby) to the Bears?

So it was released yesterday that the broncos are openly shopping their star quarterback Jay Cutler. First of all, I think Jay Cutler is a giant D-Bag who has been handed everything his entire life (you're all thinking to yourselves, Anthony, he's battled diabetes and he plays through that, yes i know) but that doesn't cover up for the fact that he's an ass-hole and that I really wish Phillip Rivers would have just kicked his ass last year, I'm looking forward to that this year. So the teams that are possibly interested are the Jets (anyone can be better then Favre), Lions (pretty much desperate for any skilled position player) but i believe will still go with Stafford with the first pick, even the Eagles have been mentioned (trading Donovan and a draft pick for Cutler), Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay, and even the Seahawks who have been frustrated with the play of Hasselbeck. But I would like to see him in a Bears uniform come fall. Even with all the crap that comes along with him, he is a smart(debateable) young kid with a great arm. He threw for 4,500 yards and tossed 25 touchdowns. Yes, he had a great young reciever in Marshall, but he was able to make throws all over the field, especially the DEEP ball. He tossed 18 picks but come on, like we have'nt seen a QB through interceptions before! I hope the Bears puruse Jay and try to get the offense rolling on all cylinders. Now.... Anquan Boldin anyone?
